I was completely blown away by her performance in this. She seemed possessed.
I saw the revival in '98 and I wept crocodile tears at how brilliant Alan Cumming is. I had the opportunity to act in a film with him a few years later, and I could barely speak to him because I am such a fan.

I was so moved by Spencer's performance, I called my manager and said I want to replace Jennifer Laura Thompson if she ever leaves. We got a call the next day with an audition because Jennifer was pregnant! I auditioned and got it! Spencer made me cry every night during the song "Tell Her I Love Her." She's a special lady.
Adriane Lenox in Caroline, or Change
I was bummed I didn't get to see Tonya Pinkins, but I forgot all about her the second Adriane Lenox stepped on stage and opened her mouth. I had worked with Adriane in Kiss Me, Kate, where she had played a supporting role, so I wasn't totally aware of her tremendous abilities. She is a star.
Joanna Gleason in Into The Woods
This was the first Broadway show I saw on a high school field trip. She was so funny and earthy and her timing was like a laser. She helped solidify my Broadway dream.
