Premium tickets prices for How to Succeed..., which most recently boasted "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe in the leading role of J. Pierrepont Finch, have sold for $302. Due to demand, the price for the limited number of premium seating has now increased to $402 for Criss' three-week engagement in the role, which is scheduled for Jan. 3-22. The top regular ticket price remains $132.
Much of Criss' run in the revival is well-sold, according to representatives for the production. Producers will continue to offer $30 rush tickets prior to each performance of the musical.
How to Succeed... is making good use of Criss' popularity, with merchandice including show posters with his image and purple bowtie. Radcliffe's bowtie was blue, and upcoming star Nick Jonas' neckwear will be green.
How to Succeed... also played a record-breaking week for Radcliffe's final nine performances, grossing $1,910,224 through his final show on Jan. 1. Radcliffe did not miss a single performance during his ten-month run in the musical.
Pop star Nick Jonas will take over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch, following Criss' run on Jan. 24. Criss is appearing in How to Succeed during a hiatus from shooting the hit Fox series "Glee." How to Succeed… opened on Broadway March 27, 2011, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The musical has a score by Frank Loesser, with a book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. Tony Award winner Rob Ashford directed and choreographed the production.
The principal cast also features Emmy, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Beau Bridges (Who's Who in Hell, The Trial of the Catonsville Nine, "The Descendants," "The Fabulous Baker Boys"), who succeeded John Larroquette as J.B. Biggely; Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Tammy Blanchard (Gypsy, "Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows") as office bombshell Hedy La Rue, Christopher J. Hanke (In My Life, Cry-Baby) as Bud Frump, Rose Hemingway (Parade at the Mark Taper Forum) in her Broadway debut as Rosemary Pilkington, Rob Bartlett (Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors) as Twimble/Wally Womper, Mary Faber (American Idiot, Avenue Q) as Smitty, Ellen Harvey (Thou Shalt Not, The Music Man) as Miss Jones and Michael Park (Middletown) as Bert Bratt.
