Third West Coast Cabaret Convention will kick off at San Francisco's Ira and Leonore S. Gershwin Theatre on from June 5. Presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, the convention runs through June 11. As reported earlier, the Foundation is planning similar conventions in Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and London for the purpose of ensuring "the future of the art form." Proceeds and contributions made in connection with these events go to the financing of the conventions.
A partial list of the numerous artists scheduled to participate in the event includes Karen Akers, Celeste Holm, Karen Mason, Andrea Marcovicci, Rita Moreno, Billy Stritch and many others.
