Hal Hart and Murray Young, the best friends of the title, have known each other since they were five and have traveled together since - through a Broadway musical comedy career, wives (now dead), children (still alive) and medical woes. So, when Murray gets out of the hospital to find he's been evicted from his New York City apartment, it's only natural that Hal would have the solution - retreat to his summerhouse in Silver Lake, New Hampshire. With their gay neighbors Tracy and Bobby, they've found peace and quiet - until their children show up for the holidays.

Carr wrote Fireflies and Getting to Know You, as well as the libretto to Chita's Jazz and All That, starring Chita Rivera. He has also choreoraphed and directed productions for Cape Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus and North Shore Music Theatre.

Edward Earle (Broadway's Roar of the Greasepaint..., Travesties) and Dana Bate star as Hal and Murray. Also in the cast are Peter Kybart (Broadway's The Diary of Anne Frank) as Tracy, Tony Alyward as Bobby, Barrymore winner Bethe B. Austin as Susan Young, Edward Keith Baker (Jeeves in the American premiere of Ask Jeeves) as Robert Hart and Vera Johnson.

Tickets are $34-$27. The Bristol Riverside Theatre is located at 120 Radcliffe Street. For reservations, all (215) 785-0100. The Bristol Riverside Theatre is on the web at http://www.brtstage.org. — By Christine Ehren
