NY Musical Theatre Fest Three More "Broadway Idols" Eliminated, Three Left; Final Round Sept. 29 Three more competitors from the New York Musical Theatre Festival's "Broadway Idol" contest were eliminated on Sept. 22 at New World Stages during Round Two, "Anyone Can Idle."

Those eliminated include Shannon Amiry, Elizabeth DeRosa and Beth Kirkpatrick, leaving only Jamieson Lindenburg, Jaclyn Huberman, and Katie Thompson to compete for the title of the singular "Broadway Idol." On Sept. 15, Saum Eskandani, Terry Lavell and Jeff McLean were eliminated during Round One.

Approximately 175 people attended the "Broadway Idol" open auditions on Monday, September 11, which were open to any performer who has not previously acted in a Broadway show. Contestants were waiting in line as early as 11 PM the night before.

The final round, titled "A Star Is Born" will take place Sept. 29 at 11 PM at New World Stages. The three remaining performers will sing two songs of their choice – one that made another performer famous and one that each feels could make him or her famous. The one with the most votes is crowned the first ever Broadway Idol and will be featured exclusively in a concert at Ars Nova to be produced by NYMF.
