News Ticket Industry Meets in Vegas for Ticket Summit July 15-17 Members of the ticket industry will gather July 15-17 in Las Vegas to discuss issues facing them.

TicketNetwork announced July 13 that over 500 attendees will be at Ticket Summit at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. Ticket Summit is billed as "the world's premier and largest gathering of professionals in the secondary ticket industry."

The conference will feature a welcome address from Ray Waddell, executive editor at Billboard Magazine, and keynote presentations from StubHub president Chris Tsakalakis, and Joe Cohen, CEO of Seatwave.

The keynote panel session will focus on "ticketing in a recession economy." That's scheduled for July 16 at 1 PM following the 11:30 AM press conference on the current state of the secondary ticket industry.

"Secondary ticket industry" refers to tickets that are being re-sold. The term is most commonly used to refer to companies like StubHub, RazorGator and TicketsNow. It can also refer to tickets resold via Ebay or craigslist, or by brokers.

The conference agenda for Ticket Summit also incorporates two book signings from conference speakers who are authors of recently published titles: Robert Tuchman, author of "100 Sporting Events You Must See Live," and Ray Waddell, whose published work includes "This Business of Concert Promotion and Touring." Both will be available to meet attendees and sign books purchased at the event on July 17. The first annual Ticket Summit Enterprise Awards will debut on July 17 at 1 PM.

"Ticket Summit is a must-attend event for all professionals whose business entails buying or selling tickets," said Dr. Molly A. Martinez, executive director of Ticket Summit. "This exciting conference is an ideal event to network with key industry players and learn more about the intricacies of the industry, as well as enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer."

The goal of Ticket Summit, "the leading conference and trade show in the secondary ticket industry," is to offer the "opportunity for an enhanced education on the ticket industry" and to provide "numerous networking opportunities for professionals aiming to expand or meet partners for the expansion of their ticket operations."

Conference sponsor TicketNetwork "is the leading source for event tickets and innovative technology solutions for both ticket buyers and sellers."
