News Tickets for History Boys Go on Sale to General Public on Feb. 26 Tickets for the Broadway production of Alan Bennett's Olivier Award-winning The History Boys, set to begin previews on Broadway April 14 at the Broadhurst Theatre, will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 26.

Tickets went on sale for American Express card holders on Feb. 8.

The cast features Samuel Anderson (Crowther), Samuel Barnett (Posner), Dominic Cooper (Dakin), James Corden (Timms), Sacha Dhawan (Akthar), Andrew Knott (Lockwood), Jamie Parker (Scripps) and Russell Tovey (Rudge).  The teachers will be played by Frances de la Tour (Mrs. Lintott), Richard Griffiths (Hector), Clive Merrison (Headmaster) and Stephen Campbell Moore (Irwin).   Other roles will be played by Joseph Attenborough (Company), Tom Attwood (Company/Music Director), Rudi Dharmalingam (Company), Colin Haigh (TV Director) and Pamela Merrick (Make-Up Lady).

As previously reported, the play — about a British boys' school — will officially open April 23. Nicholas Hytner directs.

The producers are Bob Boyett and Bill Haber, who were also behind the transfers of Jumpers, Democracy and The Pillowman. The Broadway stop will be part of a tour that will take the show to Australia and two cities in the United Kingdom, Variety reported earlier.

The History Boys, according to production notes, concerns "an unruly bunch of bright, funny sixth-form boys in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university; a maverick English teacher at odds with the young and shrewd supply teacher; a headmistress obsessed with results and a history teacher who thinks he's a fool. [The play] is about staff room rivalry, the anarchy of adolescence and the purpose of education." The play premiered in London in May 2004 at the Royal National Theatre's Lyttleton Theatre.

Alan Bennett's plays include Talking Heads and The Lady in the Van.
