News Tickets for L.A. Run of The Book of Mormon On Sale June 10 Tickets for the three-month Los Angeles engagement of the Tony-winning hit The Book of Mormon, starring Tony nominee Gavin Creel, go on sale to the general public June 10.

Those interested will be able to access tickets for the musical comedy beginning at noon June 10 via Ticketmaster.

The Book of Mormon will open the 2012-13 season at the Pantages Theatre Sept. 5-Nov. 25. A day-of-show lottery for a limited number of $25 seats will be held for each performance.

Creel (Hair, Mary Poppins, Thoroughly Modern Millie) will play Elder Price. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The Book of Mormon will first launch its national tour Aug. 14-Sept. 2 at Denver's Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Previously announced tour stops also include the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines (Jan. 24-Feb. 3, 2013) and the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis (Feb. 5-17, 2013). Mirvish Productions will bring The Book of Mormon to Toronto in May-June 2013. It will also play a five-week San Francisco engagement. A separate Chicago production will play Dec. 11, 2012-March 3, 2013, at the Bank of America Theatre. Group tickets are now on sale for the Chicago engagement.

"South Park" creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to the musical, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical.

The Book of Mormon also picked up Tony Awards for Best Direction (Parker and co-director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw), Best Performance by a Featured Actress (Nikki M. James), Best Orchestrations (Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus), Best Scenic Design (Scott Pask), Best Sound Design (Brian Ronan) and Best Lighting Design (Brian MacDevitt).
