The black-tie event will begin at 7 PM (doors open at 6 PM). The Tony Awards ceremony will also be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall beginning at 8 PM (ET) on CBS-TV. A host will be named shortly.
Among the shows contending for the top honors are Best Musical nominees American Idiot, Fela!, Memphis and Million Dollar Quartet; and Best Play nominees In the Next Room or the vibrator play, Next Fall, Red and Time Stands Still.
The 2010 Tonys are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. At The Broadway League, Nina Lannan is chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is executive director. At the American Theatre Wing, Theodore S. Chapin is chairman and Howard Sherman is executive director. For Tony Award Productions, Alan Wasser and Allan Williams of Alan Wasser Associates are the General Managers.
Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are executive producers of the 2010 Tony Awards.
