>On Sept. 28 at 8 PM, some of Broadway's most renowned female talents will grace the Carnegie Hall stage in a concert performance dubbed Continental Airlines Presents: My Favorite Broadway -- The Leading Ladies.

This one-night-only extravaganza, hosted by Julie Andrews, is a feather in the cap of Continental Airlines, the official airline of Broadway and its first-ever corporate sponsor. Chita Rivera, Ann Reinking and Betty Buckley are just some of the stellar participants who will perform the Broadway show tunes that originally won them international acclaim -- as well as audiences' hearts. Broadway's Tony-nominated director, Scott Ellis (1776, Steel Pier) will direct.

In addition to Continental Airlines, the show's producers include Jeff Rowland of the Metropolitan Entertainment Group, who conceived the concert's concept; TV producer Allen Newman; and Broadway producer/MEG collaborator Tony Adams.

The evening will be taped for Public TV's "Great Performances," and a CD recording and home video will be made from the live performance. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit AMFAR and Broaway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Tickets for the concert go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 8, and range in price from $50 to $250. They may be purchased directly at the Carnegie Hall box office or by phoning Carnegie Charge at (212) 247-7800.
