Stafford-Clark originally directed the world premiere of the play in 1988 and restaged it for a U.K. tour in 2012 before a London run at the St. James Theatre in 2013.

It will play this time at Croydon's Ashcroft Theatre (April 23-26), Colchester's Mercury Theatre (April 29-May 3) and Bristol's Old Vic (May 7-10), ahead of a run at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis from May 21-June 29, and Toronto's Mirvish Theatre from Sept. 16-Oct. 11. Further U.K. dates are also to be announced.

Based on Thomas Keneally's novel "The Playmaker," Our Country’s Good is the true story of a ragbag cast of convicts, who put on a play under the guidance of an earnest young marine officer, Ralph Clark. As the barriers between captors and captives break down, they start to discover each other, both onstage and behind the scenes.

The production is designed by Tim Shortall with lighting by Johanna Town and sound by Andy Smith.

The cast includes Tom Andrews, Victoria Gee, Sam Graham, Cornelius McCarthy, RichardNeale, David Newman, Kathryn O'Reilly, Anna Tierney and Jessica Tomchak.
