The musical's Tony Award-winning book writer Fierstein (La Cage, Hairspray) and Grammy-winning songwriter Lauper will sit with NYT reporter Patrick Healy for the 6:30 PM discussion at the TimesCenter.

The evening will include performances from Kinky Boots stars Billy Porter and Stark Sands. The event will also be live-streamed at Livestream.com/NYTimes.

Upcoming TimesTalks also include Orphans cast members Alec Baldwin, Ben Foster and Tom Sturridge (April 15); and performance artist Marina Abramović (March 15).

Based on the 2005 film of the same title about a struggling shoemaker who reinvents his business by creating fabulous and sturdy footwear for drag performers, Kinky Boots begins previews March 3 towards an April 4 opening night at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. It is staged by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray, Legally Blonde, La Cage aux Folles).
