Mara Schaffel has replaced Judy Blazer as Caroline Neville in Broadway's Titanic. Blazer disembarked the show to take a role in Richard Greenberg's Hurrah at Last at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA. Otherwise, the remainder of the Great Ship's cast has opted to stay on board the Tony-winning musical for the time being. Among those sailing on are John Cunningham, as the vessel's captain, Brian d'Arcy James as stoker Frederick Barrett, Victoria Clark as ladder-climbing second-class passenger Alice Beane, and Larry Keith as gallant department store owner Isidor Straus. A production spokesperson declined to say when their contracts are scheduled to end.

There has been greater turnover in the ensemble, however. Among those who have left: Ted Sperling who, in the role of orchestra leader Wallace Hartley, sang "Doing the Latest Rag," has left Titanic to be the real-life music director of Adamn Guettel's Saturn Returns and is now moving on to music-direct William Finn's A New Brain.

The Maury Yeston-Peter Stone musical celebrated one year at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on April 23.
