1348, the latest from director-playwright Tom Dulack (Breaking Legs), will have its debut at The Chelsea Playhouse, April 7-May 1 (officially opening April 8), presented by The 42nd Street Workshop. The play's title refers to the year in which Dulack's fictional tale is set. Four aristocrats, a nun and a Venetian merchant flee to an Alpine inn, where they seek refuge from the epidemics, poverty, revolution, and intolerance around them. When a snowstorm traps them in, they find out just how much of the environment they've left has pervaded their personalities.
Dulack established his reputation with the Off-Broadway comedy Breaking Legs. Other plays include: Solomon's Child, Incommunicado, and Diminished Capacity.
The cast for 1348 includes Richard Albershardt, Ilvi Dulack (the author's daughter), Stephen Girasuolo, Michael Medeiros, Craig Rovere, Tim Smith, and Darby Townsend.
