Presented as a gala benefit for the Irish Repertory Theatre, the one-night-only concert promises songs from the catalogue of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, including material from Oklahoma!, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, The King and I, Carousel, State Fair and Flower Drum Song.
Irish Rep artistic director Charlotte Moore will direct the 7 PM concert that will include such songs as "It's a Grand Night for Singing," "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'," "Some Enchanted Evening," "Shall We Dance?," "The Surrey with the Fringe on Top," "I Cain't Say No," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-a My Hair" and more. Mark Hartman will musical direct.
Jones, who made her Broadway debut in South Pacific, also appeared on screen in such Rodgers and Hammerstein classics as "Carousel" and "Oklahoma!" She is an Oscar winner for "Elmer Gantry."
Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Hanks is making his Broadway debut this season in Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy, which plays the Broadhurst Theatre. His films include "Philadelphia," "Saving Private Ryan," "Sleepless in Seattle" and more.
