"Threepenny Opera meets Guys & Dolls as a Salvation Army gal falls for a Chicago gangster – and unforgettable songs ensue!" press notes state. "Brecht and Weill's astounding follow-up to Threepenny Opera doesn't believe in the separation of church and organized crime. As Army preacher Lillian Holiday struggles for the soul (and heart) of head gangster Bill Cracker, trouble is brewing amongst the gang. A big bank job is underway, but a hostile takeover from within threatens to ruin all their plans. With such great songs as 'Surabaya-Johnny,' 'The Sailor's Tango,' and 'The Bilbao Song,' this masterpiece combines social satire with music hall moxie and delights all the way to its very happy end."
