The 7:30 PM panel discussion on the Alliance Stage includes director Andy Blankenbuehler, as well as book writer Jeff Whitty, composer Tom Kitt, composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, lyricist Amanda Green and Alliance artistic director Susan V. Booth. The event is free and open to the public.
Bring It On: The Musical is inspired by the film property, but features an original libretto by Tony Award-winning Avenue Q book writer Whitty. Bring It On has music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Miranda (In The Heights), as well as music by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer Kitt (Next to Normal) and lyrics by his High Fidelity collaborator, lyricist Green.
Tony Award-winning In the Heights choreographer Blankenbuehler will direct and choreograph the production that will premiere at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre Jan. 15, 2011, and officially open Jan. 28, 2011. The production will run through Feb. 20, 2011.
