Directed by Linda Kerns, the limited engagement will continue through July 29 and feature Tom Schmid (Annie Get Your Gun) as Alanzo Smith, Christina Saffran Ashford as Mrs. Anna Smith, Alyssa M. Simmons as Esther and Kyle Lowder as John Truitt.

Here's how Cabrillo Muisc Theatre bills the show: "The perfect family summer musical, the M.G.M. classic comes to life on the Cabrillo stage in this Civic Arts Plaza premiere. Sit down at the dinner table with the Smith family, circa 1904, and share their joys, struggles, and enduring humor as they face the ups and downs of life together."

The musical, which features a score by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, includes classics such as "The Boy Next Door," "The Trolley Song," " Skip to My Lou" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Other members of the creative team include music director Lloyd Cooper and choreographer Heather Castillo.
