Tony Danza and Andrea Burns

Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Tony Danza and Drama Desk nominee Andréa Burns will star in an industry reading of Grave Doubts.

The new comedy from writer David Steven Simon (Full House, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the upcoming There’s Johnny) follows Jimmy and Linda Russo years after their deaths as their heavenly selves face off six feet under to see if they can ride off into the eternal sunset together. Burns and Danza play Linda and Jimmy in a cast that also features Liz Larsen, Teddy Coluca, and Alice Spivak.

Assad Kaleda (Who’s The Boss, The Office, Two and a Half Men) will direct.

Danza last appeared on Broadway in Jason Robert Brown’s Honeymoon in Vegas and currently stars in Netflix’s original series The Good Cop alongside Tony nominee Josh Groban. Burns most recently appeared on Broadway in On Your Feet! as Gloria Fajardo.

The October 24 reading is by invitation only. (This date has been changed from the previously announced October 25 date, in order to allow the theatre community to attend the recently announced memorial for Marin Mazzie.)

Burns has been a special guest performer on Playbill's Broadway on the High Seas cruises. Cabins are now on sale for Playbill’s Broadway on the Rhône River 2 cruise April 7–14, 2019, featuring Melissa Errico, Rebecca Luker, Marc Kudisch, and Seth Rudetsky, and Broadway in Bordeaux With Michael Feinstein September 1–9, 2019, with other celebrity guests to be announced!
