News Tony Nominee Bernadette Peters Profiled on June 8 “CBS News Sunday Morning” Two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters — currently starring in the Sam Mendes-directed revival of Gypsy — will be featured on the upcoming broadcast of “CBS News Sunday Morning.”

Peters — a 2003 Tony Award nominee — will discuss her role as Momma Rose on the June 8 “CBS News Sunday Morning” telecast, which will also feature footage from the Broadway production. Richard Schlessinger interviewed Peters for the CBS profile. “CBS News Sunday Morning” airs in Manhattan on Channel 2, 9-10:30 AM ET. Check local listings.

Actress-singer Bernadette Peters is currently starring in the Tony nominated revival of Gypsy at the Shubert Theatre. Peters won Tony Awards for her performances in Song & Dance and Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. Last year, Peters was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame where she sang selections from her newest CD, the Grammy-nominated "Bernadette Peters Loves Rodgers & Hammerstein." Her numerous screen credits include Emmy nominated turns for "Ally McBeal" and "Bobbie's Girl," a Golden Globe-winning performance in "Pennies from Heaven" and roles in "The Jerk," "Silent Movie," "Bobbie's Girl," "Pink Cadillac" and "The Last Mile." She can also be seen in the Michael Douglas film "It Runs in the Family.”
