News Tony Nominee Charl Brown Set for Concert Version of Akhenaten the Musical Casting has been announced for the upcoming concert featuring songs from the Broadway-aimed Akhenaten the Musical, which will be presented May 1 at The Triad cabaret in New York.

The cast will feature Tony nominee Charl Brown, N'Kenge, Ted Keegan, Seph Stanek, John Lucas, Sahar Milani, Alia Munsch and Erik Ransom.

Akhenaten the Musical has a book by Hisham Abdel Khalek and Mohamed Metwally, music by Hesham Nazih and lyrics by Metwally. The show is produced by Corey Mach.

The new musical, according to press notes, "takes us back to the time of the Egyptian Pharoah Amenhotep IV, who loved his wife Nefertiti above all things and who, with her support, fought the powerful priesthood and replaced the worship of many Gods with the worship of one: Aten."

The creative team includes choreographer Chet Walker, projection designer Aaron Rhyne, makeup designer Joe Dulude II, hair and wig designer Charles Lapointe and Italian opera costume designer Giovanni Gobbi.
