EW.com reports that Sunjata will play a new love interest for Debra Messing's Julia Huston, the Broadway lyricist-librettist of the musical drama about the making of a Broadway musical.
This report would seem to suggest that Julia is no longer married to husband Frank (played by Brian d'Arcy James in the first season). Julia's affair with an actor (played by Will Chase, who is not in season two) was revealed in season one, sending shockwaves through her marriage.
Sunjata's TV credits include "Rescue Me" (Franco Rivera), "Grey's Anatomy" (Nurse Eli) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (CSU Technician Burt Trevor). He played Capt. Jones in the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises."
Sunjata was Christian to Kevin Kline's Cyrano de Bergerac on Broadway in 2007. It was captured in film for PBS's "Great Performances." He played Valentine in Lincoln Center Theater's Twelfth Night in 1998. His Tony nomination for Featured Actor in a Play was for Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out, in which he played a star baseball player who comes out of the closet.
