News Tony Nominee John Tartaglia Will Offer Master Class in Puppetry; Bonnie Erickson Will Be Special Guest Instructor John Tartaglia, a Tony Award nominee for his performance in Avenue Q (where he currently serves as resident director), will offer a master class intensive in theatre and television-style puppetry June 16 and 23 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan.

The two-day intensive is intended for puppeteers 16 and up with previous experience.

Topics to be covered, according to a press statement, will include "one-on-one training, monitor work, theatrical techniques, group scene work, musical performances, finding and developing characters, dramatic acting with puppets, subtleties of movement, and much more."

A session for puppetry beginners will be announced at a later time.

Bonnie Erickson (former design director of The Muppets, and current executive director of The Jim Henson Legacy) will be a special guest instructor for the upcoming master class. Erickson will discuss her work as well as design and building techniques.
