Variety reports that the actress will play Maggie the Cat in the upcoming West End production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. That role was played in the 2008 Broadway Cat revival by Tony winner Anika Noni Rose. As previously reported, James Earl Jones and Phylicia Rashad, who played Big Daddy and Big Mama in the Broadway revival, will repeat their work for London audiences. They will also be joined by Adrian Lester as Brick.
Rashad and Lathan were Raisin in the Sun co-stars.
Performances will begin Nov. 21 at the Novello Theatre, according to Variety. Opening is Dec. 1. Debbie Allen, who directed the 2008 Cat revival, will reprise that duty.
Stephen Byrd and Alia Jones will produce the London run.
