Tom Edden, who was Tony-nominated for Best Performance by an Actor for a Featured Role in a Play for the Broadway transfer of One Man, Two Guvnors in 2012, will play Fagin in the new production of Oliver! that will be staged at the U.K's Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, beginning performances Nov. 29 prior to an official opening Dec. 16.

Edden replaces the previously announced Phil Davis, who according to a press release "has had to withdraw from the production due to family reasons." Edden joins Ben Richards, who will be playing Bill Sikes. The run will continue through Jan. 25, 2014.

The production is directed by Daniel Evans, artistic director of Sheffield Theatres, who has previously directed the musicals My Fair Lady and This is My Family there. As an actor, he has also starred there in Company. His Broadway acting credits include Sunday in the Park with George, for which he was Tony nominated for the production that transferred from London's Menier Chocolate Factory.
