News Tony Winner Anika Noni Rose Lands Leading Role in CBS' "For Justice" Anika Noni Rose, a Tony winner for her performance in Caroline, or Change, has landed the leading role in the CBS pilot "For Justice," according to Deadline.com.

Based on James Patterson's novel "The Thomas Berryman Number," the civil rights crime drama will be directed by Ava DuVernay. Rene Balcer penned the pilot.

The CBS Television Studios, James Patterson Entertainment and Tribeca Productions pilot will also feature Tony winner Phylicia Rashad.

Rose is cast as Special Agent Natalia "Nat" Chappel, described as "a cool, laser-focused, tough as nails FBI agent who works in the Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division and finds herself caught between the radical family she was born into and the professional family she has chosen."

Singer-actress Rose was also seen in the CBS series "The Good Wife." Her Broadway credits also include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Raisin in the Sun and Footloose.
