Annie Get Your Gun, fresh from its Best Actress and Best Revival wins at the June 6 Tony Awards, went "bang" at the box office June 7.

A spokesman for the freshly-reconceived version of the Irving Berlin classic, at the Marquis Theatre, took in a little less than $200,000 at the box office June 7, more than doubling sales of a usual Monday.

A tearful Bernadette Peters accepted the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical June 6. It was her second Tony win, after Song and Dance. She fills the shoes of Ethel Merman who originated the role of sharpshooter Annie Oakley in the tune-filled musical, known for "There's No Business Like Show Business."
