The Aug. 26 event will be held at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble beginning at 5:30 PM. Excerpts from the three-act opera based on the novel by John Steinbeck will be presented. Clark will sing the role of Ma Joad with Elizabeth Futral as Rosasharn, Jesse Blumberg as Tom Joad, Kelly Markgraf as The Ragged Man, Stephen Powell as Noah, Robert Orth as Uncle John and Mary Phillips as Mae the waitress.
Librettist Korie and composer Gordon will host the event, which will feature Timothy Long and Gordon on piano.
The Grapes of Wrath features music by Ricky Ian Gordon and a libretto by Michael Korie. The opera made its debut in February 2007 at the Minnesota Opera Company.
The three-disc "Grapes of Wrath" boxed set will be released Aug. 26 on the PS Classics label.
