News Tony Winner Debbie Gravitte’s “Defying Gravity” CD to Hit Stores in January Debbie Gravitte’s third solo recording, and her first for the Jay Records label, is set to hit stores around the country this month.

Entitled “Defying Gravity,” the 15-track disc was produced by John Yapp and recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. About her new CD, Tony winner Gravitte told Playbill.com, “I'm really proud of it... It has songs from seven of the eight Broadway shows I've done. And, of course, it also includes the first symphonic recording of ‘Defying Gravity.’” The complete track listing for “Defying Gravity” follows:

Debbie Gravitte was most recently on Broadway playing Matron "Mama" Morton in the hit revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre. The singer/actress received a Tony Award for her performance in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, and her other Broadway credits include They’re Playing Our Song, Perfectly Frank, Blues in the Night, Zorba, Les Misérables and Ain’t Broadway Grand. Gravitte’s solo recordings include “The MGM Album” and “The Alan Menken Album.”
