Dahlia artistic director Matt Shakman (Orson's Shadow, Nocturne) will stage the work, which kicks off the 2008 season for the California company March 12. The show will officially open March 15 for a run through April 20. From the pen of The Last Sunday in June comes the "story of Andy Lipman, a smart, ambitious kid from Long Island who dreams of a career on Broadway and hopes his idol, Martin Kerner, can give it to him," according to show notes. Secrets of the Trade is billed as "a hilarious and heartbreaking look at the complications of mentorship and the painful mysteries of a life in the theatre."

Glover (Love! Valour! Compassion!, "Smallville") stars in a cast that will also feature Amy Aquino ("ER," "White Oleander"), Bill Brochtrup ("NYPD Blue," Theater District), Mark L. Taylor and Edward Tournier.

The design team includes Craig Siebels (set), Mike Durst (lights), Joel Spence (sound) and E.B. Brooks (costumes).

Playwright Tolins has also penned The Twilight of the Golds, The Last Sunday in June and If Memory Serves for the stage. He also co-wrote (and co-produced) the recent film "Martian Child."

Tickets to Secrets of the Trade at The Black Dahlia Theatre, 5453 West Pico Boulevard (at Hauser, between Fairfax and La Brea) in Los Angeles, are on sale now by calling (800) 838-3006 or online at thedahlia.com.
