"Today" news anchor Jenna Wolfe hosts the ceremony, which begins at 6 PM.
The annual event honors "activists, scientists, philanthropists and creative artists who have made extraordinary contributions in the fight against AIDS," according to TAG. "RIAA is a fundraiser to support TAG's programs, and provides a forum to honor heroes of the epidemic. This year marks the 20th anniversary of TAG's founding."
Light will be presented with the TAG Award by Scott Campbell, executive director of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The actress is being recognized for her involvement as an LGBT-rights activist.
Other honorees include Dr. Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, Jon Cohen and Dr. Paul Farmer.
Light, who will be seen in Broadway's upcoming The Assembled Parties, is a 2012 Tony Award winner for her performance in Other Desert Cities. She was Tony-nominated for her work in Lombardi and has also appeared on Broadway in Herzl and A Doll's House.
