Carter Bays, the show's co-creator, tweeted Sept. 27, "Here's another bit of #HIMYM casting propaganda: A guest appearance by our good friend @Lin_Manuel Miranda!"
Following the news, Miranda — a Tony winner for the original score of In the Heights — retweeted a message from co-creator and executive producer Craig Thomas, which read, "So excited to have @Lin_Manuel joining us on #HIMYM -- meant to be!" Miranda added, "You guys. YOU GUYS!"
The series, which returned for its final season Sept. 23, also features Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor and Jason Segel.
