News Tony Winner Nikki M. James Will Host Once On This Island Benefit, Starring Kenita R. Miller Tony Award-winning actress Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon, Les Misérables) will join Friends in Theater Company to host Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Once on this Island, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and Western New York, Jan. 20 at the Lucille Lortel Theater.

"We have already received such overwhelming support from the Broadway community." said FITC founder and executive producer Philip Accorso in a statement. "From sending donations to spending their time between shows to make videos, it’s an honor to have all of Broadway at our backs. And now, to welcome one of the most talented and celebrated young women in the business as our host, is my own personal dream come true. It will truly be a night to remember!"

As previously announced, the 7:30 PM performance will be directed and choreographed by Curtis Holbrook.

Once on This Island will feature Erica Simone Barnett as Little Timoune, Aisha De Haas as Mama Euralie, Marisa Kennedy as Andrea, Tamika Lawerence as Erzulie, John Eric Parker as Tonton Julian and Stephanie Umoh as Asaka, Kenita R. Miller as Timoune, Joe Aaron Reid as Daniel, Michael James Scott as Agwe and Andre Ward as Papa Ge with Jonathan Burke and Renee Veronica Freeman. The musical director is Jonathan Rose.

All proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions since 1980.
