News Tony Winner Patti LuPone Will Offer Matters of the Heart This Fall at Strathmore Tony Award-winning actress Patti LuPone, who will star in the Broadway-bound David Mamet play The Anarchist, will offer her solo show Matters of the Heart Oct. 5-6 at Maryland's Music Center at Strathmore.

In Matters of the Heart, according to Strathmore, "LuPone enchants with electrifying performances of love songs by a wide range of composers from theater greats Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim to such contemporary songwriters as Randy Newman, Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Judy Collins, Dan Fogelberg, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper." The concerts will begin at 8 PM.

LuPone, last seen on Broadway in An Evening With Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, is a two-time Tony Award winner for her performances in Evita and Gypsy. She was nominated for her performances in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Sweeney Todd, Anything Goes and The Robber Bridegroom.

The Anarchist, a two-woman drama set in a female penitentiary, will begin Broadway previews Nov. 13 towards a Dec. 2 opening. The production is scheduled for a 14-week run through Feb. 17, 2013.

LuPone will also be part of Playbill's third Broadway on the High Seas cruise, which sets sail Aug. 4, 2013, from Stockholm, Sweden.
