Variety reports that Leonard will play an oncologist in the as-of-yet untitled medical thriller from Paul Attanasio/David Shore. Universal Network TV is producing the drama. Robert Sean Leonard's screen credits include "Dead Poets Society," "Mr. & Mrs. Bridge," "Married to It," "Swing Kids," "Much Ado About Nothing," "The Age of Innocence," "In the Gloaming," "The Last Days of Disco," "Tape," "Driven" and "Chelsea Walls."

Leonard was most recently on Broadway in Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour. He won a Tony Award for his performance in The Invention of Love and received nominations for his work in Long Day's Journey Into Night and Candida. Leonard's other Broadway credits include The Music Man; The Iceman Cometh; Arcadia; Philadelphia, Here I Come!; The Speed of Darkness; Breaking the Code; and Brighton Beach Memoirs.
