News Tony-winner Side Man May Tour U.S. and Play London Side Man, the winner of the 1999 Tony Award for best play, has plans to tour the U.S. and play London. So said the producers of the Warren Leight play backstage at the Tony ceremony. Plans are still tentative and it was not clear whether the tour or the London date would come first. In other news, productions of Side Man have been licensed for Seattle, Phoenix and Minneapolis. The latter show will be staged at the Guthrie.

The latter show will be staged at the Guthrie. Side Man also netted a Tony for Frank Wood as Best Featured Actor in a Play. The Leight play began its journey to Broadway at the Off-Broadway CSC Repertory space in the summer of 1998. It then transferred to the Roundabout Theatre Company's main stage and finally the Golden Theatre, where it has been struggling in recent weeks.
