News Tony Winner Sternhagen Talks of Her Life in Theatre on Radio's "Downstage Center" Tony Award winner Frances Sternhagen will appear on the Jan. 18 broadcast of XM Radio's "Downstage Center."

The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio present the interview with the actress-director on the weekly theatrical show on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28). The show plays Jan. 18 at 6 PM with repeat broadcasts Saturday at noon, Sunday at 7 PM and Wednesday at 12 AM (ET). The actress will talk about her six-decade career on the stage — from her most recent Broadway appearance in the Seascape revival to her Broadway debut in the revival of The Skin of our Teeth (featuring Mary Martin, Helen Hayes and George Abbott) as well as her casting in the original Broadway run of Equus, creating the role of Ethel Thayer in On Golden Pond and more.

Sternhagen won her two Tony honors for her work in The Good Doctor and The Heiress. She was also Tony-nominated for On Golden Pond, Morning's at Seven, Angel, Equus and The Sign in Sid Brustein's Window. Other credits of her long resume include Driving Miss Daisy, Long Day's Journey Into Night, The Exact Center of the Universe and The Foreigner. She also appeared in the films "Bright Lights, Big City," "Misery," "Doc Hollywood," "The Laramie Project" and recurring roles on television's "The Closer," "ER," "Cheers" and "Sex and the City."

"Downstage Center" programs run on XM and are then made available for free as streaming audio and in podcast form on ATW's website at americantheatrewing.org.
