Entitled "Get Over Yourself!: How to Drop the Drama and Claim the Life You Deserve," Pinkins will host a book-release party Jan. 11, 2006, at 6 PM at the Hue-Man Bookstore & Cafe, which is located at 2319 Frederick Douglass Blvd., between 124th and 125th Streets. In "Get Over Yourself!," Pinkins, according to press notes, "shows readers techniques and exercises that help them develop their own processes for obtaining their goals. This is tough love, Tonya style. . . . She takes the principles that helped her to succeed and puts them into a book that reaches out and grabs readers searching for a better way of life."

Tonya Pinkins, a Tony nominee for her performance in Caroline, or Change, received her Tony Award for her performance in Jelly's Last Jam. Her other Broadway credits include Merrily We Roll Along, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Play On! (Tony nomination) and The Wild Party. She starred in the City Center Encores! mounting of Harold Arlen's House of Flowers, and she can be seen as Livia Frye Cudahy on the ABC serial "All My Children."
