News Tony Winner Victoria Clark Offers Nov. 26 Concerts at Kaplan Penthouse Tony Award winner Victoria Clark presents two concerts at Lincoln Center's Kaplan Playhouse Nov. 26 in celebration of her debut solo recording, "Fifteen Seconds of Grace."

Clark, the Tony-winning star of The Light in the Piazza, will be joined by fellow Light in the Piazza Tony winner, orchestrator Ted Sperling. Sperling, who also musical directed Clark's solo album, will lead an 11-piece orchestra for the 7 and 9:30 PM concerts.

"The songs I've chosen for my debut album and this special concert engagement are all about opening up and letting love and adventure into our hearts — and our lives," the actress said in a statement. "Many of the songs are about finding the courage to love and be loved — all kinds of love: for lover, for child, for God, for friends, for oneself. And of course I always have to balance the courage with humor. It is our great life-saver.

"It was important to me to offer these songs as a gift to the listener, so that he or she could hear them in a very personal way. That meant finding new material that touched me deeply, and taking the older standards and theater songs and resetting them in new surprising ways. And I think we have done that, with the help of some of the best musical arrangers/orchestrators in the business: Ted Sperling, David Loud, Jeff Klitz, Alex Rybeck, and Jeff Blumenkrantz."

"Fifteen Seconds of Grace," released on Nov. 6 by PS Classics, features familiar standards such as Harold Arlen's "Right as the Rain," "Before the Parade Passes By," and "I Got Lost In His Arms" as well as Adam Guettel's "Life Is But a Dream," Jeff Blumenkrantz's "Departure," Ricky Ian Gordon's "The Red Dress," "It Might Be You," "Thomas," "How Can I Keep From Singing" and others.

Victoria Clark was most recently seen on the New York stage in the City Center Encores! presentation of Follies. Clark's Broadway credits include The Light in the Piazza, Titanic, Urinetown, Cabaret, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Guys and Dolls, A Grand Night for Singing and Sunday in the Park With George. The Kaplan Penthouse is located in Lincoln Center's Samuel B. and David Rose Building at 165 West 65th Street in Manhattan.
