Performances begin June 19 for the New York premiere of Mary Page Marlowe, a new play by Tony-winning playwright and actor Tracy Letts, which pieces together a portrait of a woman from 11 key moments in her life—told out of chronological order, and portrayed by six different actors.
The title role in the Off-Broadway production from Second Stage Theater is shared by Blair Brown, Emma Geer, Tatiana Maslany, Susan Pourfar, Mia Sinclair Jenness, and Kellie Overbey.
Mary Page Marlowe is directed by Drama Desk Award-winning director Lila Neugebauer and is playing at 2ST’s Tony Kiser Theater. The Off-Broadway play will officially open July 12.
Rounding out the 18-member cast are David Aaron Baker, Nick Dillenburg, Grace Gummer, Tess Frazer, Kayli Carter, Audrey Corsa, Marcia Debonis, Ryan Foust, Brian Kerwin, Maria Elena Ramirez, Elliot Villar, and Gary Wilmes.
Mary Page Marlowe received its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre in 2016 with direction by Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro; the production featured a 21-member cast, including seven actors who shared the title role.
The 2ST production features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, sound design by Brandon Wolcott, and casting by Telsey + Company.
