Trails has music by Jeff Thomson, lyrics by Jordan Mann and book by Christy Hall. It was presented as part of the 2010 New York Musical Theatre Festival's Invited Musical Selections.

Jen Bender will direct the April 26 and 28 industry readings, featuring Altomare (Spring Awakening), Lackey (Kiss of the Spider Woman) and Stout (Beauty and the Beast), as well as original NYMF cast members Nick Dalton, Matt Lutz and Hollis Scarborough.

Here's how the musical is described: "Trails tells the story of two friends, adrift in their lives, who reconnect after ten years and set out to fulfill a childhood promise: to hike the Appalachian Trail from beginning to end. Over the six-month, 2000-mile journey, past and present intertwine as the two face both the elements and the ghosts that haunt their memories. As they sift through the ashes of their tumultuous history, a bond of brotherhood struggles to be reborn."

The reading is presented by New World Stages and Fakston Productions (Ken Fakler and Dan Stone).
