Trashers, a new play written and directed by Lisa Morton, recently had its world premiere at the Whitmore/Lindley Theatre. The futuristic comedy about a naive robot caught up in the class struggle between rich and poor will continue through Dec. 4. The producers are the Zeitgeist Theatre Co. and John B. Martin & Linda Martin.
Morton is a well known sci-fi and horror writer. She adapted and directed Philip K. Dick's Radio Free Albemuth and produced the West Coast premiere of Robert Patrick's Hello Bob. Her fiction has appeared in such anthologies as "Dark Terrors" and "Horrors! 365 Scary Stories." Her first non-fiction book, a study of the work of the Hong Kong filmmaker Tsui Hark, will be published in 2001.
In the cast are Meg Bowen, Fuzzy Fusard, L T Fusard, Tady Harris, Peter Hawthorne, Brook Heys, Boyd Houster, Robert Hoch, J. Anthony McCarthy. Danette Mitchell, Tracy Rooney, Rod Sweitzer and Susan Walker.
