News Trent Armand Kendall, NaTasha Yvette Williams and Lawrence Clayton Set for Reading of Louis-and-Ella! Louis-and-Ella!, a new jazz musical by Trent Armand Kendall, will receive a developmental table reading April 24 in Manhattan.

Kendall will play Louis Armstrong with NaTasha Yvette Williams as Ella Fitzgerald. The cast will also include Lawrence Clayton as St. Peter, Inga Ballard, Jennifer Fouche and Destinee Rea.

Louis-and-Ella! features a concept and book by Kendall with music direction/arrangements by David Snyder and direction/choreography by Jeff Whiting.

This new "jazzical," according to production notes, is about "redemption and saluting two huge musical icons by reuniting them in Heaven to jam once more as St. Peter, three angels called The Jubilees and Gabriel with his golden horn help their souls to finally cross over while ripping through some of the biggest hits of their storied careers and the great American songbook."

The musical is being developed and presented by Onemoe Music, Karen Poindexter and general manager Geoff Cohen.
