Les Misérables, directed by Simpkins with choreography by Nathaniel Shaw and music direction by Eric Kang, will kick off the season June 18-29. Falsettos will follow July 10-20; it is also directed by Simpkins, with choreography by Lee Wilkens and music direction by Joshua Zecher-Ross.

The Mainstage season will also include the 2008 Disney musical The Little Mermaid, running Aug. 13-24. Jennifer Werner will direct and choreograph, with music direction by Eric Kang.

TriArts' Stage 2 (at the Bok Gallery) will offer Tuesdays With Morrie, written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom and based on the book by Albom, July 3-6.

According to TriArts, "Based on one of the top selling memoirs of all time, it is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished sports journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie's appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life."

Also on Stage 2 will be the new musical Nine Wives, featuring music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen and book and lyrics by Dan Elish. Simpkins will direct the musical, which will run July 24-27. Based on the novel "Nine Wives" by Elish, the musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of Henry Mann, a 32-year-old bachelor who discovers that the love of his life has met someone new and is about to get married. What's worse, he's been invited to her wedding! What follows are Henry's frantic attempts to find a woman he can take as his date – a potential future wife – to prove to his ex-fiancée (and the world) that he too is ready to move on."

The annual Youth Theatre production will be the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, which will run Aug. 1-3 on the Mainstage. Featuring book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, Jason Brantman and Fiona Santos will direct and music direct.

Additional artists in residence for 2014 are scenic designers Michael Schweikardt and Caleb Levengood, lighting designers Chris Dallos and Jamie Roderick, costume designer Michelle Humphrey and sound designer Brad Berridge.
