Featuring a book and lyrics by Columbus with music by Pluess and Warren, Paris by Night bows on the Trinity Rep stage April 25-June 1. The musical, staged by Birgitta Victorson, will officially open April 30.

The cast for Paris by Night features Stephen Berenson, Janice Duclos, Mauro Hantman, Stephen Thorne, Rachael Warren, Joe Wilson, Jr., James Royce Edwards, Timothy John Smith, Erin Tchoukaleff, Lynette Freeman-Maiga, Charise Greene, Michael Propster, Jude Sandy and Adam Suritz.

"I've always loved movie musicals from the late '50s and early '60s," Columbus said in a statement. "Paris by Night celebrates that image of Paris - not the real city, but more the one of our collective, Hollywood-fed imagination."

"Set in 1960's Paris. American expatriate Sam (Joe Wilson, Jr.) is nursing a broken heart in Montmartre. Certain that he's left romance behind, he meets a young soldier (James Royce Edwards) who is brimming with life and confidence. As Sam's romance unfolds, beautiful chanteuse Marie (Rachael Warren) is searching for her own soulmate in brash American soldier Frank (Mauro Hantman). Basking in the the romance of the City of Light, the magic of Paris inspires Sam and Marie to follow their hearts," press notes for the production reveal.

The production team includes Tony Award winner Eugene Lee (set design), William Lane (costume design), Deb Sullivan (lighting design) and Peter Sasha Hurowitz (sound design). Michael Rice musical directs the jazz-scored musical, backed by musicians Thomas Brinkley and Mike Sartini.

Co-composer Warren currently appears in the Off-Broadway staging of The Adding Machine. She has previously collaborated with Columbus and Pluess on Sis3ters and PULP. Pleuss' work as a sound designer includes the Broadway productions of Metamorphoses and I Am My Own Wife.
