News Trinity Rep to Stage Oliver!, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and More Providence, Rhode Island's Trinity Repertory Company will stage the new Christopher Durang comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, the Lionel Bart musical Oliver! and the world premiere of Stephen Thorne's Veronica Meadows as part of its 2013-14 season.

Trinity Rep will launch its new season with the Frank Galati adaptation of John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, directed by Brian McEleney, Sept. 5-Oct. 13.

Following will be a resident production of Durang's Chekhov-inspired comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which played to acclaim Off-Broadway this season and will transfer to Broadway in the coming weeks. The frothy comedy centers on a group of siblings who reunite at a country house in Bucks County, PA, for a weekend of unhappiness, delusion and prophecy. It will run Nov. 21-Dec. 23.

Brian Mertes will stage Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, about two families struggling with a life-changing incident, which will run Jan. 23-Feb. 23, 2014. Lionel Bart's classic musical Oliver!, based on the Charles Dickens novel, will be staged Feb. 13-March 23, 2014.

Trinity Rep will also present the Rhode Island premiere of Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, about a seamstress who creates beautiful undergarments for Manhattan's fashionable brides, which will run March 27-April 27, 2014.

The final production will be Thorne's Veronica Meadows, which will be presented May 29-June 29, 2014. Here's how the world premiere is billed: "Girl detective Veronica Meadows and her gal pal Ginny have been sleuthing and solving small town crimes for as long as anyone can remember. Time and time again, they stop the evil-doers in their tracks and heroically save the day.
