News "Trumbo" Film Will Feature Bryan Cranston, Michael Stuhlbarg, Helen Mirren, John Goodman, Roger Bart Additional casting has been announced for "Trumbo," a new film about the blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Casting to date includes Bryan Cranston (All The Way, Breaking Bad) as Trumbo with Dean O'Gorman as Kirk Douglas, David James Elliot as John Wayne, Michael Stuhlbarg as Edward G. Robinson, Diane Lane as Trumbo’s wife and Helen Mirren as Hedda Hopper with John Goodman, Peter Mackenzie and Roger Bart.

Jay Roach is directing the film that has a screenply by John McNamara, based on Bruce Cook's 1977 book "Trumbo."

The film, which is currently in production in New Orleans, is being produced by Michael London and his Groundswell Productions.

A play, which is unrelated to the film project, also titled Trumbo, played Off-Broadway in 2003-04. Created by the late screenwriter's son, Christopher Trumbo, the play was culled from the letters of the legendary blacklisted screenwriter. Numerous actors starred in the Off-Broadway production, including Nathan Lane, F. Murray Abraham, Brian Dennehy, Gore Vidal, Richard Dreyfuss, Roger Rees, Robert Loggia, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Richards and Chris Cooper.
