Allan Byrns' Trumpet to the Moon will have its world premiere at the Knightsbridge Pasadena Theatre on Sept. 1. Directed by Karesa McElherty, the backstage comedy deals with a troupe of Shakesperean actors in Elizabethan times who are in the final "hell" week of rehearsal before the world premiere production of Hamlet. The run is through Oct. 15.
Byrns has credits as producer and writer in features, television and award shows for Billy Wilder, Peter Fonda and Milton Berle. McElheny's most recent directorial credit was for The Road to Nirvana.
Trumpet to the Moon will play in rep with Robert Bolt's A Man For All Seasons, which runs through Sept. 24 and is directed by Robert Craig and stars Don Schlossman and James Rice.
Knightsbridge Pasadena is located at 35 S. Raymond Ave. in Old Pasadena. For tickets and information call (626) 440-0821.
