News Turner, Drescher, Luker, Mosley and Schonfeld Join Broadway for a New America Benefit Additional artists have been announced for Broadway for a New America: Standing Up for Marriage Equality and a Progressive Agenda for Change, which will be presented by the Jewish Alliance for Change March 2 at the Peter Norton Symphony Space in Manhattan.

Newly announced for the evening are Kathleen Turner, Fran Drescher, Anne Meara, Rebecca Luker, Karla Mosley and Jeremy Schonfeld.

The above artists join the previously reported Stockard Channing, Richard Belzer, Tovah Feldshuh, Mario Frangoulis, Ann Hampton Callaway, Scott Blakeman, Jonathan Freeman, Seth Rudetsky, Melissa Errico, Nellie McKay, Rosie Perez, Lillias White, Shauna Hicks, Hugh Panaro, Cheryl Freeman, Norm Lewis, Michael Longoria, Krysta Rodriguez and Noah Weisberg. Jim Dale will emcee the evening, which begins at 7 PM.

(Due to scheduling conflicts, Eve Best and Marni Nixon are no longer part of the program.)

Sara Louise Lazarus will direct the concert with musical direction by Lawrence Yurman and lighting by Guy Smith. Kati Meister and Scott Denny are the producers.

In addition to the aforementioned performers, speakers will include Steven Goldstein, chair of Garden State Equality; Rabbis J. Rolando Matalon and Marcelo Bronstein of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, New York City; and Evan Wolfson, founder and executive director of Freedom to Marry. The Jewish Alliance for Change, according to press notes, "plans to build on its achievements and mobilize the American public to fight for marriage equality and the realization of a progressive agenda for change. The benefit proceeds will go to The Jewish Alliance for Change for the continuation of its good work in support of important progressive issues."
