Debuting Sept. 7 at New York's Film Forum, Turturro himself is releasing the film after years in limbo due to a corporate merger between Sony Pictures and MGM.

Boasting a cast of stage and screen stars, the ensemble includes James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Mandy Moore, Mary-Louise Parker, Aida Turturro, Christopher Walken, Elaine Stritch, Barbara Sukowa, Eddie Izzard, Amy Sedaris, Cady Huffman, Tonya Pinkins, Michael McElroy, Mary Bond Davis, John Selya, Turturro and more.

The film premiered in 2005 at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals and has played in a number of foreign movie houses, taking in a reported $2.5 million.

Featuring a pre-existing score from as varied artists as Irving Berlin, James Brown, Nick Cave, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller as well as a Buena Vista Social Club song, the film is billed as a "down and dirty musical love story [about] Nick Murder, a Queens construction worker and family man (Gandolfini) who lusts after the local hottie (Winslet) as his seething wife (Sarandon) goes on the warpath, enlisting aid from her Elvis-wannabe cousin (Walken)," according to show notes. "Getting Neanderthal marital advice from his best friend (Buscemi) won't save Nick's skin!"

Turturro starred opposite Helen Hunt in the Broadway staging of Yasmina Reza's Life x 3 and appeared Off-Broadway in Souls of Naples. He is known for his film work in "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?," "Barton Fink" and "Quiz Show." He was also seen recently in the ESPN mini-series "The Bronx is Burning." Other stage credits include The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, The Bald Soprano, Steel on Steel, Men Without Dates and his OBIE Award-winning turn in Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
